JAKARTA PT. Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) was suspected of having been hacked last Sunday, January 14. This data leak was first discovered by Today Cyber News, a cyber research group.

The group said that hackers managed to access sensitive data owned by PT. KAI such as employee personal data, customer detailed information, and other information from the company's internals.

After the hacking issue emerged, PT. KAI immediately conducted an investigation. As stated by KAI Executive Vice President Information Technology (IT) Albertus Indarko Wiyogo, the company has not found any evidence of leakage.

Although investigations have been carried out for several days, his party has not been able to disclose any information for now. Apart from the evidence of a leak that is claimed to not exist, PT. KAI will continue to investigate the source of the hack.

Indarko added that his company is working with several parties to find evidence of hacking, including the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) and the Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim).

"We have collaborated with many parties, yes. We can't mention it, but one of them is with BSSN too, then from cyber crime too, there is Bareskrim, and several other institutions (which cannot be mentioned)," concluded Indarko.
