JAKARTA - Minister of Communication and Information, Budi Arie Setiadi, encourages women in MSMEs to utilize digital technology, in order to increase economic potential.

Because according to Budi, digital platforms such as social media, e-commerce platforms and customer data analysis technology can be optimized to increase competitiveness in commercial activities.

Budi also mentioned that women play an important role in the economic development of society. Of the approximately 65 million MSMEs in Indonesia, 64 percent are women.

Even though there are still many challenges that need to be faced, with the digitalization of the economy, the Minister of Communication and Information hopes that women out there will have various opportunities for self-development, such as becoming innovators, educators, influencers, entrepreneurs and even digital leaders.

"The easy access to information provided by the internet should be an asset for women to continue to grow and empower each other," said Budi in a release quoted on Wednesday, January 17.

Therefore, the Ministry of Communication and Information is running digital economy development programs such as MSME Level Up, National Digital Literacy Movement (GNLD), and Digital Entrepreneurship Academy (DEA).

"We also actively support the implementation of the National Movement Proudly Made in Indonesia (Gernas BBI) as an affirmative government program to encourage love for domestic products," he concluded.
