New Policy: YouTube Will Remove AI Content That Impresses Death Toll

JAKARTA - YouTube updated its policy regarding cyber harassment and oppression to limit content that "realistically simulates" the death of a minor.

Launching from TechCrunch, this policy change occurred because several criminal content creators had used AI to create fake content related to children who had died or disappeared.

In this case, they usually use AI to duplicate the sound of a case, to describe their death.

"On January 16, we will start attacking content that realistically simulates the deaths of minors or victims of deadly or well-documented major violent events that describe their deaths or violence," YouTube wrote in its official announcement.

In recent months, confiscating information from The Washington Post, content creators have used AI to tell various important cases, including the kidnapping and death of two-year-old James Bulger from England.

In addition, there is also a narrative made with AI about Madeleine McCann, a three-year-old British child who disappeared from a resort.

There is also a narrative about Gabriel Fern Marijudez, an eight-year-old boy who was tortured and killed by her mother and girlfriend in California.

Due to this anxiety, YouTube has finally taken decisive steps to remove content that violates the new policy.

As for users who violate, they will receive a warning not to be able to upload videos, live streaming, or stories for one week. After three warnings, their channel will be permanently removed from YouTube.
