JAKARTA - Fastweb, an Italian telecommunications operator, announced its plans to build a large artificial intelligence (AI) language model trained in the original Italian language. This step aims to help corporate customers and Fastweb public administration in the development of AI tools.

Fastweb stated, "A group of AI genrative experts will work through a deep learning system to develop language models based on large data sets in Italian."

Fastweb also expressed its intention to install an NVIDIA-powered AI supercomputer in its main data center in the Lombardy region, northern Italy, and make this technology available to third parties through their cloud services.

"With this new LLM, there will be a special state platform for development by Fastweb and third parties from various AI generating applications," he added in a statement.
