JAKARTA - Strava, an internet service to track physical exercises that combine social networking features, announced a new feature, Messaging, a new way to share inspiration, tips, or their journey.

The premiere version of this feature is rolling out now and offering two core options, namely direct messages (one-on-one) and group messages, which allow coordination, connectivity, and celebration of your achievements and progress with the crowd.

In addition, this additional feature that is integrated into Strava Messaging includes:

Share Activities and/or Routes: Share Activities and Routes easily to messages to help with coordination and celebration.

Group Message Customization: Message Makers can personalize group chat names for more customized experiences.

Fun: Athletes can provide motivation, sensation, and even friendly competitions through message reactions, gif, and replies.

"Strava Messaging bridges the gap between tactical planning and meaningful engagement, realizing Strava's commitment to empowering athletes and fostering a growing community. This is a catalyst for connection and real-time discussions to change the athletes' experience," the announcement read.

The company also says athletes at Strava can customize the Message feature based on the experience they want on the platform.

For example, athletes can set their preferences on who can invite them to Group Messages or who can send them direct messages.

Settings will be set automatically based on the visibility of the athlete's profile but can be adjusted to receive messages to and from 'Following', 'Mutual', or 'No', under settings in the Strava app, closes the company.
