JAKARTA - Salesforce, a global leader in the field of CRM, released a recent State of IT report discussing the opinion of more than 4,000 IT leaders in 28 countries, including Indonesia, to highlight the impact of the technological trend for IT organizations.

This year's State of IT report revealed that the AI is generalized to revolutionize the IT sector. Where, 87 percent of IT leaders in Indonesia recognize the role of AI, and believe that generative AI will soon play an important role in their organization.

Even so, they still see this with care, considering 53 percent of them have concerns about the ethical practices related to generative AI.

"In the current economic climate, reliable AI can contribute greatly to IT leaders in Indonesia. Especially for those who are facing various pressures in meeting business demands and changing customer needs," said Gavin Barfield, Vice President & Chief Technology Officer, Solutions, ASEAN Salesforce in a statement received by VOI on Friday, December 1.

In addition, this report also states that the TI team's capacity is drained by digital transformation, and some important adjustments need to be made in its work activities, including changes in the target or KPI, demands for business needs, technological evolution, and economic pressure.

A total of 47 percent of IT organizations in Indonesia face difficulties in responding to various existing business demands. This situation is becoming increasingly challenging because 69 percent of them project an increase in IT service demand over the next 18 months," the report said.

Therefore, in line with Indonesia's efforts to strengthen the AI ecosystem nationally, Barfield said, IT leaders must be able to take advantage of the advantages offered by AI and automation, in order to further increase speed, productivity, and personalization on a large scale.

Responding to this, 91 percent of IT leaders in Indonesia also admitted that they were increasingly encouraged to focus on operational efficiency.
