JAKARTA - Google has introduced new support for website owners, called profile pages and discussion forums, to ensure that what Search displays in this feature is as accurate and complete as possible.

“Search designed to display first-person perspectives from social media platforms, forums and other communities. "The implementation of this structured data will help ensure that what Search displays in this feature is as accurate and complete as possible," wrote Google in its update, quoted Tuesday, November 28.

Profile Page

Profile Page markup is designed as a place for content creators (whether people or organizations) to share direct perspectives.

In this way, Google Search can better identify information about content creators, such as their name or social username, profile photo, number of followers, or popularity of their content.

Discussion Forum

On the other hand, Discussion Forum is designed for forum-style sites, where people can collectively share their perspectives directly. This will allow Google Search to better identify online forum and discussion sites across the web.

Not only that, to support site owners in implementing these changes, Google is updating Search Console with new reporting that will show things like errors, warnings, and valid items associated with marked up pages.

Both features will also be available in Rich Results Test, so site owners can test and validate any markup changes.
