Pro-Palestinian Content Is More Popular Among TikTok's Gen-Z Users

JAKARTA Support for Israel and Palestine continues to be voiced on various social media platforms, one of which is TikTok. This support comes from various circles, both old and young.

Of all the support content scattered on TikTok, BBC reports that pro-Palestinian content on the platform is more popular among Generation Z (Gen-Z) which was born from 1997 to 2021.

Apart from being popular among young people, the number of tagaristandwithisraelis has only been watched up to 240 million times. This number is four times smaller than the number of impressions on the hashtag istandwith Palestine which reached 870 million.

According to BBC observations, this amount of support is also supported by content created by the Israeli side. For example, one of TikToker and Israeli Army Daniel created content dancing with his friends. They all wore army uniforms.

In this content, Daniel and his three friends were seen dancing holding weapons while on duty. This video got a high show and went viral with 2.1 million views.

Daniel's content has come under fire from several parties. They left many bad comments and cursed Daniel because his dance was considered disrespectful of civilians killed in Gaza.

Although Daniel said that he was not bothered by the hate reaction in his upload, content like this also affected the user's view of voicing support for Palestine on TikTok.
