Changpeng Zhao Appreciates Post-Resignation Of Public Support From Binance CEO

JAKARTA - Changpeng Zhao's departure from the position of CEO of Binance on suspicion of not following anti-money laundering rules has tarnished the name of the world's largest crypto exchange. Even so, not a few have provided support to Binance founder Changpeng Zhao.

The figure who is familiarly called CZ appreciated the support he received from the public and Binance users in the last few days. He admitted that he could not fully respond to the support but admitted that he received public attention to him.

Furthermore, CZ admitted that previously he had always joked about early retirement from the CEO of Binance. He can't imagine what happened even though in a way he didn't expect. The Binance founder admitted he was getting used to the turmoil he had experienced since stepping down from CEO Binance.

Despite the various rumors circulating about Changpeng Zhao's departure from his position. But one thing is for sure, CZ believes his mentality remains stable as usual.

Asked To Resign

Changpeng Zhao has become one of the main players in the crypto ecosystem, leading the biggest crypto broker until a few days ago when he was faced with law enforcement action.

He was asked to resign from his position as CEO of Binance as part of the agreed settlement of the trade platform with the United States Department of Justice (DOJ).

The founders of Binance and its exchanges have been under DOJ observations since 2018 for money laundering and violations of the KYC (Know Your Customer) rules. He was detained for several hours and pleaded guilty to charges of not running an anti-money laundering system. He was released on personal guarantees of 175 million US dollars or equivalent to Rp. 2.7 trillion.

The verdict hearing is scheduled to be held in February 2024. Meanwhile, Binance founders are prohibited from violating the law, disturbing witnesses, or using hazardous substances. Recently, the United States Prosecutor wanted to prevent him from traveling abroad until the date set for the trial.
