JAKARTA - The crypto wallet provider, Ledger, has announced a partnership with the well-known art auction house, Sotheby's, in an effort to provide exclusive benefits to digital art collectors.

In this collaboration, buyers of high-value digital artwork at Sotheby's will receive a limited edition of the Ledger x Sotheby's Nano X physical wallet starting in 2024. This partnership will also bring the launch of the Ledger Stax special edition.

The elite art collectors dealing with Sotheby's will also be able to enjoy the premiums Ledger will provide. This will allow collectors to engage in Ledger Academy educational resources.

"We want to introduce the next generation of art collectors to the web world3. Our partnership will fully embrace digital art and strengthen its values. Education is important for Sotheby's and Ledger, and it is important for collectors to know how to protect their digital values," Ian Rogers, Ledger Chief Experience Officer.

This step is in line with Ledger's strategy to become a key player in the digital arts world. Last year, the company started developing an NFT Art collection and set up special funds to support global artists.

Sotheby's, as the famous auction house, hopes to combine their interest in digital art with higher security levels through Ledger's offerings. Sotheby's Global Fine Arts Managing Director Sebastian Fahey called the Ledger hardware wallet a luxury product and as a great way to introduce collectors to the concept of digital self-care and art.

Sotheby's has been active in the Web3 domain by setting up a special NFT and digital art department as well as a secondary market platform called "Sotheby's metaverse." They have held well-known auctions such as "Grils" featuring leading digital artwork and auctions dedicated to legendary generative artist Vera Moln

"Our goal is to continue to build a comprehensive digital arts environment for collectors, and this partnership with Ledger is an important step in the development," Sebastian Fahey said.
