JAKARTA - As we all know, the role of women in the STEM (Sains, Technology, Engineering, Math) ecosystem is still low, when compared to the role of men.

To that end, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Communication and Information, Mira Tayyiba, said that the government provides equal opportunities for women to take advantage of digital technology and the digital economy.

Mira emphasized the capacity of human resources and mastery of digital technology as an important aspect, so that women take a more role in the digital industry ecosystem.

According to him, the level of attraction for women to enter STEM is still very limited. Therefore, Mira stated, women as users of digital technology also need to improve their digital skills.

Mira admitted that currently the Ministry of Communication and Informatics has compiled a Digital Indonesia Roadmap, one of which is related to efforts made in the development of digital talents or human resources through basic to advanced training.

"For example, the Digital Entrepreneurship Academy (DEA), is one of the trainings of a digital talent program that focuses on women and 61% of the participants are women," explained Mira in a Kominfo release while accompanying the Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi receiving a visit from the National Leadership Training participants. In order to support the productivity of women in the digital realm, Mira provides advice to PKN Level I LXII LAN participants to continue to pay more attention to women to be able to take advantage of the various potentials of the development of the digitalization industry in Indonesia.

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics assessed that the ease of business for female MSMEs must also be facilitated by instilling the principle of digital ability. So to realize it into a form of business such as e-commerce requires a model or program that has been prepared.
