JAKARTA - According to the latest survey, about a third of US investors will be willing to follow the financial advice generated by artificial intelligence (AI) without verifying it with other sources.

On August 22, the Standard Council for Fiscal Financial Planning released the results of a poll interviewing more than 1,100 adults in early July.

Only 31% of respondents actually received financial planning advice from AI, with 80% recording the level of satisfaction with the experience. Older respondents tend to feel satisfied with the experience compared to those under 45.

However, nearly a third of all respondents surveyed, whether they had tried it or not, indicated that they would feel comfortable following suggestions without verifying it.

Prior to the emergence of a wave of AI chatbots, such as OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Bard, it was noted that more investors began to rely on friends, influencers, and social media for investment advice.

Interestingly, this latest survey found that the generative AI tools managed to beat social media across all age groups, while investors surveyed said they were more comfortable using AI's financial advice without verifying the information, compared to social media.

A total of 26% expressed comfort in using financial advice that had not been verified from social media, compared to 31% who stated the same thing from a generating AI tool.

However, the Certified Financial Planning Board claims that investors of all ages feel more comfortable with the financial advice generated by AI and come from social media if it is verified by a financial advisor.

The experience of using AI for financial advice is still low, but generally satisfying for those who have tried it. However, the findings show that only 52% of respondents are interested in accepting financial advice made by AI in the future.
