JAKARTA - WhatsApp has just launched a feature to create and share artificial intelligence-based stickers (AI) based on user requests via text or description.

In a screenshot obtained from WABetaInfo, Wednesday, August 16, a new button that reads Create is available when opening the keyboard in the sticker tab.

When selecting this option, users will be asked to enter the description used to create stickers. Then, WhatsApp will present a set of AI stickers resulting from the description and users can share which stickers to share in the conversation.

WABetaInfo stated that the AI sticker was generated using the secure technology offered by Meta as the parent of WhatsApp.

Later, users will always be in control of the stickers created by AI. If according to sticker users are inappropriate or dangerous, they can report it to Meta.

It should be noted that this feature is optional and the AI sticker is easily recognized. That is, the recipient can understand when the sticker has been generated by Meta's AI technology.

The AI sticker maker feature, said WABetaInfo, brings some advantages to the user experience.

By entering a description for AI stickers, users can create stickers that are highly personalized, according to their wishes, experience, or conversation.

For now, the new AI sticker feature is being tested on a very limited beta tester that uses Android WhatsApp. It is claimed, will roll out to more people over the coming weeks.
