Geely And Baidu Release The Smart Car Brand 'JI YUE' With The Focus Of Autonomous Technology And Artificial Intelligence

JAKARTA - A Chinese car manufacturer, Geely Holding Group, on Monday 14 August revealed a new premium smart technology brand called JI YUE, which originated in Geely's collaboration with Baidu Inc in automotive robotics, and introduced its first model.

JI YUE 01, the flagship model under the new brand will be produced by Geely and is expected to debut in the last quarter of this year, the company said in a statement.

Baidu will provide his knowledge in smart cabins, autonomous driver technology, and artificial intelligence, which will be applied in JI YUE cars.

"In addition to overseeing sales, services and marketing for 01, JI YUE will also build and develop its own charging network in China to meet consumer demand for smart smart electric vehicles," the statement said.

Also on Monday, China's industrial ministry website featured three electric vehicles under the JI YUE brand seeking regulatory approval.

Geely has jointly funded an electric car business called Jidu with Baidu. The brand in June launched a "robot" concept car, marking the first car jointly developed by automakers and Baidu, as global technology companies are racing to develop pint cars
