JAKARTA - Threads, one of Twitter's tough competitors, is claimed to be launching a web version in the next few weeks.

This new version of the application, which was originally launched for mobile users, eventually complied with the user's request.

This is because the Meta-owned platform has lost many users in a very fast time since its launch.

"Sunday is good for Threads. The community here is on track which I expect to build a dynamic long-term app," Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in his Threads post.

"A lot of work ahead but excited about the team's delivery speed. Search and web will come in the next few weeks," he added.

As Zuckerberg mentioned, Threads will also change its search page where users can find trending topics and certain posts, not just accounts.

Secretly, Threads introduced several new features including the ability to view posts that are liked, upload high-quality photos and videos and optimize links to Apple's iMessage messaging services.

Threads that must connect with Instagram accounts to use the service were launched last June and quickly annexed 100 million users.

However, interest in the app has now decreased. Zuckerberg acknowledged that the use of the app decreased by half, which is estimated at 70 percent. This was quoted from Fortune and Evening Standard, Tuesday, August 8.
