JAKARTA - Brave search engine is now improving its capabilities, thus allowing users to be able to search for images or videos directly in its browser, without having to switch to Google or Bing.

This capability has been in development for months. During the development period, Brave offers alternative image or video search options via diversion to Bing or Google.

Brave Search now provides image and video searches directly from its own index. This gives users a fully independent, privacy-preserving alternative for search! https://t.co/F5rR0FlwFJ

"Users no longer need to leave the Brave browser for image and video search results. Now every Brave browser request can be served directly from the Brave index itself," Brave wrote in its announcement.

In addition, the company noted that users will benefit from increasing speed and privacy from the ability to search for images and videos in the ecosystem. This is safer than other search engines that rely on third-party providers.

"This will allow users to benefit from fully independent search engines that protect their privacy and hold sensors," he added.

The company warns that currently, image search results in Brave are still being improved. So for now, certain advanced filters such as types of licenses or aspect ratios will not be available soon. But this will soon be added, he said.

Brave's search engine is the default in the company's Brave web browser, but can also be used independently in search.brave.com.
