JAKARTA - Opera's generative Artificial Intelligence tool (AI), Aria, has surpassed one million users since its launch in May. The Google competitor Grower launched Aria for Android users at the end of last June. Aria himself adopted OpenAI's GPT technology.

GPT is a Large Language Model (LLM) used by ChatGPT and is mostly seen as a language model that started a generative AI revolution.

Aria, built on an innovative Composer Opera architecture, offers users a variety of functions and is improved with additional capabilities such as live results from the web.

Aria and AI services in general are key to Opera's future strategy, with the company's newly redesigned flagship desktop browser.

"Even though it's still early, I'm happy that our users really like Aria's experience like ours. I can't wait for more of our users to try Aria himself," said Co-CEO Opera Lin Song in a statement, quoted Monday, July 31.

"Because we upgrade all of our Desktop user bases to Opera One and immediately present our original AI browsers to Opera GX and Opera for iOS, making them available on all major platforms."

Aria is now available on Opera One and on Opera for Android in more than 180 countries around the world, including the European Union.

Users must download Opera for Android or Opera browser for desktop and log in using their Opera account.

When finished, users simply open the browser, click on the Aria icon in the main menu (cellular) or in theode (desktop) and start exploring using AI for free.
