The New Face Of Semarang History Museum Using Immersive Technology

JAKARTA - Mayor of Semarang, Hendrar Prihadi has released a teaser video of a tourism project in his city. One of them is by preparing the first immersive technology history museum in Indonesia.

"Coming soon. Currently in the stage of refining the concept, hopefully it will run smoothly until it is realized," he wrote on his personal Instagram account @ HendrarPrihadi, Saturday, January 30.

The mayor who is familiarly called Hendi revealed that the museum will use a building that has been erected by the Ministry of PUPR at the Bubakan roundabout, Semarang City. Immersion is a technological concept that has begun to be applied to a number of museums in various countries to attract visitors.

This concept blurs the boundaries between the digital world and the real world so that visitors can have new experiences. Hendi said that currently museum preparations are in the process of perfecting the application of technology concepts.

"We are currently in the stage of refining the concept of technology application, hopefully the process will run smoothly," he added.

The plan is for the new museum to be enjoyed by the public in mid-2021. He also hopes that the presence of the museum can add new destinations in the Kota Lama Semarang area.
