Kaspersky's latest statistics for Southeast Asia show that 43.455.502 phishing attempts were successfully blocked by Kaspersky solutions in the region during 2022.
Vietnam topped the list for the most phishing detections in the past year in Southeast Asia with more than 17.8 million detections. Followed by Malaysia in second place with a total of 8.26 million and Thailand (6.28 million) in third place.
While Indonesia itself occupies the fourth position with the most phishing detections with 4.93 million. The following is a complete list of the number of phishing threats that Kaspersky managed to detect during 2022 in the Southeast Asian region:

- Malaysia: 8.267.013 detections
- Thailand: 6.283.745 detections
- Indonesia: 4.931.367 detections
- Philippines: 4.559.288 detections
- Singapore: 1.556.232 detections

Hia also added that the criminals are constantly improving their skills in creating malicious emails with infected links as well as fake phishing web pages that appear legitimate.
"For this reason, it is important for users to check emails carefully to determine their authenticity," said Hia further.
