Elon Musk Admits XAI Will Use Public Tweets To Train Its AI Model

JAKARTA - After launching a new startup that relies on Artificial Intelligence (AI), xAI. Elon Musk said he would take advantage of public tweet data from Twitter to develop its business.

In 90-minute Twitter Spaces audio chats, Musk revealed various visions and missions for xAI, one of which uses public tweets to train his AI model and work with Tesla on AI software.

Musk stated that if his company is connected, it will be mutually beneficial and can accelerate Tesla's work in its own driving ability.

Previously, Musk had criticized all AI companies for training their models using Twitter data in a way that he thought was illegal, and now he is doing it.

In addition, xAI is also working to build Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) by referring to AIs that can solve problems such as humans, as an alternative to Microsoft, Google and OpenAI, as quoted from SCMP, Saturday, July 15.

It is known, xAI comes with the aim of understanding the true nature of the universe, which will be separated from other Musk businesses, such as Tesla and Twitter, but will continue to work with them.

Led by Musk himself, the new company brought in many great teams who are alumni of DeepMind, OpenAI, Google Research, Microsoft Research, Twitter and Tesla.

The researchers are known to have worked on projects including AlphaCode DeepMind, GPT-3.5 chatbot, and OpenAI's GPT-4.

Meanwhile, with xAI, they will also focus on Big Language Models (LLM), deep learning and neural networks.

Apparently, Musk is presenting xAI to compete with companies such as OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic, which are behind leading chatbots such as ChatGPT, Bard and Claude.

The launch of xAI comes after Musk accused companies like OpenAI and Google of developing technology without considering the risks to humans.
