Cybersecurity Experts Give Tips To Return To Work From Office

JAKARTA - After the high number of COVID-19 and the implementation of lockdowns in several countries. Especially in Southeast Asia, although many people are still working from home, many have also returned to work.

Maintain cybersecurity solutions from home

Whether your workforce returns from home to work or is in the middle of a business trip, using a virtual private network (VPN) and advanced end-point, detection and response (EDR) solutions will ensure they return to work safely.

Restore all security controls that you disable for remote workers

To allow remote employees to connect to corporate networks, especially from private devices, several organizations are weakening or disabling cybersecurity controls such as Network Admission Control (NAC).

NAC checks computer compliance with company security requirements, such as the latest malware protection before granting access to the company's network. Once employees return to the office, the NAC must be turned on to protect the internal system if the engine poses a risk.

Update the internal system

Don't forget to check internal critical services. The IT security team needs to know if there are servers that haven't been patched into the company before allowing anyone to enter. With everyone returning to the office and connecting their laptop to the company's network at once, only one domain controller that hasn't been patched can provide wide access to the wrong party, such as employee account data and password.

Get ready to save and also to pay

Consider spending the budget to manage digital work stations so that employees can divide their weeks between offices and other places. Remote work technologies such as virtual desktops are much easier to implement, manage, repair, and protect than remote computers.

Save the tools and settings used by employees remotely

Thanks to their pandemic experience, employees have mastered new communication tools and collaborations for chat, video conferencing, planning, CRM, and others. If the tool is functioning properly, employees will want to continue using it.

Companies must be ready to approve new services or suggest and maintain alternatives. Special solutions can help organizations manage access to cloud services and implement related security policies.
