WhatsApp Launches Feature to Add and Edit Contacts Directly from the Application

JAKARTA - WhatsApp seems to have rolled out a new capability to some beta users to allow you to save someone's contacts directly from the WhatsApp application.

Initially, WhatsApp already provided a shortcut to add someone's contact directly in the application.

However, once you hit the "New Contact" option in the app, it will take you to the Contacts app to enter the person's name and phone number.

Well, first discovered by WABetainfo, this new feature is here to remove the hassle, where this feature will allow users to add contacts or edit their information without having to leave the WhatsApp application.

This feature appears to be rolling out to some beta testers recently. However, it's fortunate that VOI received this update. To find out if you have received this feature update, click the "green chat" icon to create a new chat, then select "New Contact or New Contact".

According to VOI monitoring, if you accept this feature, you will be able to directly add someone's contact by entering their first name, last name, telephone number, and also where the number is stored.

Not only that, but you can also add unknown numbers to your contact list when they contact you on WhatsApp, without switching to the contacts app.

It should be noted that this feature is not limited to just adding contacts, as it also allows you to edit contact information directly within the app.

The ability to add and edit contacts within the app is available to some beta testers who installed the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android, and will roll out to more people in the coming days.
