JAKARTA - Ahead of the Southeast Asian Games, the Indonesian Esports Council (PBESI) is optimistic about the 2023 SEA Games which will be held in Cambodia in May.
At the press conference held last week, Yohannes Siagian, Head Coach of the 2023 Cambodia SEA Games National Team, admitted that Indonesia is targeting four gold medals for the Esports branch at the event.
"I am amazed and proud of our athletes, because they work hard, are focused, and are not trapped in their own egos. Meanwhile, from the coach's point of view, believe that all decisions that have been made are for the best. So, I beg you support," said Yohannes, quoted on Friday, March 17.
Even though he has a target of four gold medals, he revealed that every number being contested has the mindset to win gold.
"The team we have, even though our target is four gold medals, all have the mindset that we are chasing gold in every branch. Indonesian athletes, especially Indonesian esports athletes, do not know anything except to pursue the maximum possible target," said Yohannes further.

"And if this activity is not restricted, maybe they will continue until morning. But, we limit them to around 10 to half past 11, then at 11 they have to be all off," he concluded.
