Lince Works, Studio Behind Aragami Game, Halts Operations Due To Economic Problems

JAKARTA - The studio behind the development of the stealth action game Aragami, Lince Works has announced that they will halt the development of their new project indefinitely, starting next April.

“We have some important news to share with you. It is with great regret that we have to announce that Lince Works will be effectively halting development on new projects indefinitely, starting this April,” wrote the Studio on Twitter.

Lince Works is a video game development studio founded in 2014 and released its debut title, the first installment of Aragami, two years later. Proving to be quite successful, the studio is finally launching a sequel in 2021.

"We've been fortunate enough to do what we love for the past nine years, pouring our heart and soul into creating immersive and entertaining games for you to enjoy, and we're incredibly proud of what we've accomplished," the studio continued.

However, Lince Works admits that they have had a hard time over the last few years, as the studio is transitioning into developing new IPs and new courses for the company.

“We were ambitious about what we wanted to achieve as a studio but unfortunately, even though we were making good progress, the economic context was not favorable and we were running out of time,” he explained.

Although the studio will no longer be operational, Lince promises that Aragami and Aragami 2 will still be available across all platforms and that the storefront and online co-op will be accessible.

“We also want to express our appreciation to our amazing team, who have worked so hard to bring our games to life. It is with a heavy heart that we must part, but we know that they will continue to bring their talent and passion to the industry in the future. We will do our best to help them find the best place to continue their careers," the announcement concluded.
