JAKARTA - For the first time Artificial Intelligence (AI) was used by the Romanian government as an advisor to new honors. It was Ion, who worked to monitor the country's current situation in the European Union.

Romanian Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca has introduced Ion to his team this week. The unique AI was developed by Romanian researchers.

Ion will use data from social media and artificial intelligence to capture opinions in society, using the information he collects in real time to inform the government of the Romanian people's wishes.

They will also be asked to share opinions on topics such as government activities, national important events, living standards, sports and entertainment activities, topics related to health or food, energy, and others.

People in Romania will also be able to talk to Ion online, via websites and social media. They can also interact with Ion at public events, where he will be represented with a mirror-like robot.

Ciuca described Ion as the first government adviser to use AI, "Hi, you gave me life and my current role is to represent you, like a mirror. What I should know about Romania," said Ion when launched recently, quoted from The Guardian, Saturday, March 4.

However, Ion will not respond to the Romanian people's questions, he only shares their contributions with the government that has gone through an in-depth analysis process.

Website Ion said social media comments provide strong clues about the level of citizen satisfaction, and in the era of technology, not only private companies represent innovation centers and information management, but also public institutions.

"I have confidence that the use of AI should not be an option but an obligation to make better decisions," explained Ciuca.
