Prabowo Raises Corn And Grain Prices, PAN: This Is A Historical Decision

JAKARTA - Member of the House of Representatives from the PAN faction, Saleh Partaonan Daulay, appreciated the steps taken by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to increase the income and quality of life of farmers by increasing the price of corn and grain. According to Saleh, this step is a historical decision and is in favor of farmers.

It is known, the government decided to increase the price of unhulled rice and corn through a limited meeting on Monday, December 30, 2024. The government also guarantees to buy all the grain and corn produced by our farmers at the price of HPP (the cost of goods sold).

"In yesterday's cabinet meeting, there were three main things decided. First, the government raised the price of unhulled rice from Rp. 6000 to Rp. 6500. The price of corn also rose, from Rp. 5000 to Rp. 5,500. Even more than that, the government stated that it would buy all the products of farmers at the price of HPP," Saleh said in his statement, Tuesday, December 31.

"This is a historical decision. A decision that is very supportive of the farmers. We should support it together," he continued.

The Deputy Chairperson of PAN considered that the decision would have an impact on the performance of the farmers. Saleh also believes that farmers will be more enthusiastic in supporting the food self-sufficiency program that Prabowo aspires to.

"This is what I called yesterday as a political attitude of social justice. Once again, this is proof of Prabowo's love for farmers. With this decision, farmers are believed to be more diligent in working and participating in serious pursuit of food self-sufficiency," he said.
