Edgio Improves Performance Of Its Security Platform, WAAP And DDoS Scrubbing Solution

JAKARTA - Edgio, Inc., announced significant updates to its security platform, including a new DDoS scrubbing solution and enhanced Web Application and API Protection (WAAP) capabilities on Friday, 24 February.

DDoS attacks are on the rise. According to Verizon DBIR (Data Breach Investigation Report) 2022, the number one security threat today is DDoS or denial-of-service attacks with a percentage of 46% of attacks occurring, and the number will continue to increase every year.

Therefore, it is very important for companies or individuals to have protection from the spectrum of DDoS attacks. With its new DDoS scrubbing solution featuring a 250+ Tbps edge network, Edgio will provide a dedicated DDoS mitigation capacity that protects all protocols and direct-to-source attacks.

Meanwhile, WAAP enhancements include sophisticated rule customization, prevention of outgoing data leaks, proxy detection, area code support, and advanced configuration.

These new features with more up-to-date capabilities are expected to help customers detect and respond to emerging threats, and ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of their data and applications.

Beyond that, Edgio has also added the ability to detect and block requests originating from anonymous proxies, providing additional control over access to customer applications.

Sophisticated rule customization allows customers to control the sensitivity of individual security rules maximizing their accuracy while minimizing false positives. Advanced configuration management allows developers to directly import and export json configurations via the API and UI to quickly provide protection for new applications.
