JAKARTA - Kaspersky officially launched the Kaspersky Extended Detection and Response (XDR) platform, which aims to mitigate and combat the detrimental threat from ransomware targeted at businesses in Indonesia.

In Southeast Asia (SEA) itself, Kaspersky revealed that Lockbit is the most productive targeted ransomware that attacks 115 unique businesses in the region.
The Lockbit ransomware group, which is also a ransomware-as-a-service provider, has successfully targeted major companies globally and in Southeast Asia including major IT Service providers, allegedly asking for $50 million in ransom, at a private school in Malaysia, and food producers in Singapore.
"To help the security team of companies that need more power, we are combining some of our security tools into a coherent integrated security incident detection and response platform, Kaspersky Extended Detection and Response (XDR)," said Yeo Siang Tiong, General Manager for Southeast Asia at Kaspersky on Tuesday, February 21 in Jakarta.
Yeo added that Kaspersky's new platform provides multi-layer protection for companies, as well as threat hunting capabilities for existing Security Operations Centers (SOCs).
