iOS Users Complain about Cropped Display of Photo Uploads on Timeline

JAKARTA - A number of Twitter users have complained that photos, videos or gifs that they upload via iOS experience problems where the media is cut off.

If you search for the word 'Twitter image cropped' then various complaints will appear where iOS users are now seeing cropped images in their timeline.

Previously, Twitter had introduced the full-frame image feature in May 2021. This feature allows users to view the entire image on the timeline without having to open the image first. But now, Twitter is returning the settings to the way they were.

Not only that, another problem came from a video uploaded by the @medicgordus account. From this upload, the account owner said that the video was suddenly cut off.

"I believe Twitter servers crashed our old video @elonmusk. Third corrupted video I've come across," he wrote in a video post on Tuesday, January 10.

Responding to this, the social media platform owned by Elon Musk said that they were fixing the problem and would immediately notify users regarding the solution.

"Did you post an image, video or gif and it got cropped? Sorry about that. We're working on a fix for an issue on iOS that was causing some media to get cut off on your timeline. As soon as it's fixed, we'll let you know," Twitter tweeted.

It is still unknown when this problem will be resolved, but Twitter said it will update the progress of the fix soon.

Recently, Twitter also launched a new feature called "For You" for iOS users. The way this feature works is similar to the For Your Page (FYP) algorithm from TikTok.

This change makes Twitter more accessible to switch between features, because now it only takes one swipe instead of a few taps. But something is missing. Especially if you set the app to show "Recent Tweets", which was usually stuck in older versions.
