JAKARTA – The Police wanted to interrogate a member of Elon Musk's security team after he allegedly crashed into the car of someone who Musk later claimed was a threat to his family.

The incident on December 13 occurred at around 9:51 p.m. in the 700 Mission Street block in Pasadena, California, according to a police report. The victim, identified only as 29 years old from Connecticut, was the only one at the scene when police arrived.

The Connecticut man said he had turned off the 110 freeway and was stopping to use his phone when another car "pulled right in front of him, blocking his way," the police report said. The driver got out of the car and accused the Connecticut man of following him on the freeway. The two men apparently recorded each other on their phones.

According to police, the driver then got back into his car, and as he was leaving the parking lot, he hit the Connecticut man's vehicle. "At no time during the incident did the victim identify a suspect or suggest the altercation was anything more than coincidence," police were quoted as saying by The Verge.

Two days after the incident, Pasadena police said they determined the suspect was a member of Elon Musk's security team and that Musk was not present during the confrontation. "Efforts to reach Musk and his security team for a statement are underway," they added.

On December 14, Musk tweeted that a car carrying his two-year-old son "was followed by a crazed stalker (who thought it was me), who then blocked the car from moving & climbed onto the hood," Musk said in a tweet.

However there is no mention of anyone climbing onto the hood of anyone's car in the police report. Musk then tweeted a six-second video of a masked man sitting in a car, asking his followers, "Anyone recognize this person or car?"

Earlier this week, The Washington Post interviewed a man who claims to be the person shown in the video shared by Musk. The man, Brandon Collado, said he was driving for Uber Eats and showed the Post a video of what he claimed was a member of Musk's security team that appeared to match a video shared by Musk from another angle.

Collado also made some outlandish claims referring to Musk's ex-girlfriend, artist Grimes, who he believes sent him coded messages via Instagram.

Musk cited the incident in Pasadena as evidence supporting Twitter's decision to suspend several accounts, including @elonjet and half a dozen prominent journalists, for what he described as tweets sharing his real-time location, putting his family at risk. So far, @Elonjet has relied on publicly available information about the whereabouts of Musk's private jet.

Meanwhile, Musk has unbanned people he accuses of endangering his safety on Twitter.
