JAKARTA - TikTok is rolling out a comment dislike button that allows users to use it if they see comments that are irrelevant or inappropriate.

According to the company, this feature has actually entered the trial phase at the beginning of last year, and now they are fully releasing it to all users.

"The new features are coming. Earlier this year, we started testing new ways to identify comments they believe are irrelevant or inappropriate. After some testing, we released them globally," the company wrote on Twitter on Friday, September 23.

The short video sharing platform also says that this new dislike button is the company's new way of hearing input directly from its community.

"This allows us to identify more irrelevant or inappropriate comments, which helps us grow the comment section for genuine and authentic interactions," he added.

So, when you open the TikTok app, you'll see this dislike button next to the like button of a comment.

Now, you can find it when you find inappropriate comments. And if you accidentally press it, just like a like button, you can press it again to cancel it.

"Our main priority with this feature is to create a better experience for our community."

The company also noted that at launch, the total number of people pressing the dislike button would not be visible.
