JAKARTA - Instagram has now officially presented a new look for Indonesian users. When viewed, there is a new Reels and Shop tab at the bottom of the Home page.

By presenting this new look, Instagram makes excuses to fit the trends of their audience. However, not a few users think that social media will turn into e-commerce, because that is the intention of displaying the Shop tab on their platform.

Previously, in 2010, Instagram was known to emerge only as a social media platform for sharing photos and videos with close friends, family and the public.

But over time, this app has served as a foundation for social media influencers to increase their popularity and fame. Today, Instagram is working to cater to a different type of creator.

"Tab Reels is a place where people can share their creativity with the world and have the opportunity to come out and find an audience," said Head of Instagram Adam Mosseri in an official Instagram blog post as quoted by The Verge, Sunday, November 22.

Mosseri added, with the Shop tab, Instagram hopes to help buyers get inspiration from their favorite creators and support small businesses. What's more, he also assured that the new design provides an important refresh to the application.

Please note, Reels is an Instagram feature that debuted in August 2020. It allows users to record and edit 30-second videos with audio, effects, and other creative options such as TikTok.

Instagram users can select Reel at the bottom of the Instagram camera, then take advantage of editing tools and other tools like AR Effects or Speed to help create content.

Meanwhile, Shop is another new feature for Instagram this year. The Shop feature will offer the latest collections and products from big brands as well as small businesses.
