Tesla Accidentally Shares Supercharger Program For Non-Tesla EVs In The US

JAKARTA - Tesla has been rumored for a long time that they are planning to make a supercharger for non-Tesla EV users around the world.

On Wednesday, August 17, Sawyer Merritt revealed on Twitter that the Elon Musk-owned company has rolled out a non-Tesla EV supercharger membership plan on its app.

BREAKING: @Tesla has launched Supercharger membership packages for Non-Tesla EV owners.

There are two plans:

• Pay Per Use: Pay as you go, access to Supercharger network

• Membership: $0.99/month (in the US), access to Supercharger network, lower price per kWh pic.twitter.com/muVBv3pZbd

According to Merritt's uploaded image, Tesla presents two options for charging. The first is 'Pay per user', which means you have to pay according to your usage.

The second option is 'Membership'. With this option, you are required to pay 0.99 US dollars (Rp. 14 thousand) per month, to get access to the supercharger at a lower price per kWh.

Merritt adds, however, that you need a separate membership for each account, and fees are limited to five sessions per day.

According to Merritt, the price is also very cheap when compared to a membership for the Electrify America supercharger which costs USD 4 (IDR 59 thousand).

However, not long after, Merritt reported that Tesla removed the feature from the app. It seems that Tesla made a mistake.

According to Merritt, it may be that the electric car company inadvertently suppressed publication prematurely.

"Or they erroneously put $0.99/month instead of $9.99/month. I guess we'll see," Merritt said on Twitter.

UPDATE: Looks like Tesla has removed the new feature from the app.

That way, it could be that Tesla made a mistake and maybe the price offered would be different from what Merritt had just seen.
