JAKARTA - Atari, a subsidiary of French game maker Infogrames Entertainment, is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Founded by Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney in 1972 as Atari Inc., it is now Atari Interactive.

"It's been five decades since a small team in Silicon Valley first combined their creativity, curiosity, and passion to create video games and hardware," the company said on its website.

In celebration, the company's Atari 50: Anniversary Celebration announced that it will feature more than 90 games including its favorite titles including Atari 2600, 5200, 7800, ST, Jaguar, and Lynx.

Atari will take players on Atari's interactive journey of 50 years in the gaming world through interviews with designers, developers, and industry leaders.

This is the first time that games from platform favorites Atari Jaguar and Atari Lynx will be playable on modern consoles. In this event, Atari will reveal all the stories behind the creation of existing games.

Atari hasn't shared the full list of games that will appear there, but in addition to the many classics, the collection will include six new retro-inspired games. One of these is the sequel to 1981's Haunted House for the Atari 2600.

According to the announcement, Atari's Haunted House will feature modern 3D voxel-based graphics and new levels for players to explore. Atari 50: Birthday Celebration will cost $40 when it arrives later this year on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, PC, and Atari VCS.
