JAKARTA - Snap Inc, the parent company of photo messaging app Snapchat, is testing a new subscription service called Snapchat+. According to a Snap spokesperson, on Thursday, June 16, the service will give customers access to exclusive and pre-release features.

The subscription feature, which Snap says is being tested internally, was first revealed on Twitter by a user named Alessandro Paluzzi. He is a mobile developer and backup engineer according to his Twitter bio.

Snapchat+ will cost you 4.59 euros for a one month subscription or 45.99 euros for one year, according to a screenshot Paluzzi posted on Twitter.

It will be the first subscription product for Snapchat, allowing users to post content stories, play games, and scroll through a TikTok-like feature called Spotlight.

This new feature further emphasizes that social media trends are now heavily influenced by the emergence of TikTok which offers video display features with a certain algorithm.

Not only Snapchat, Facebook and Instagram have also started this feature, which was first introduced by TikTok on their respective platforms.
