JAKARTA - Audi added Apple Music to its car infotainment to give users the ability to listen to music without the need for additional devices.

The new Apple Music integration allows customers to access their personal Apple Music account directly from the Audi infotainment system, without the need for Bluetooth or USB.

Audi vehicle users can link an active subscription to their vehicle, and then access Apple Music, which contains 90 million songs, and tens of thousands of playlists, ad-free.

"Integrating Apple Music into the Audio infotainment system marks the next step in the collaboration between Audi and Apple," said Christiane Zorn, Audi's Head of Product Marketing.

Zorn also added, "Audi is systematically pushing for the digitization of vehicles and believes that the interior is increasingly evolving into a third living space.

The Apple Music integration will be available on nearly all Audi vehicles in Europe, North America, and Japan starting in the 2022 model year. The integration will easily roll out to vehicles already on the road via automatic over-the-air updates.

To activate Apple Music, you just need to open the Audi infotainment system app. Then follow the on-screen instructions to sign in with the Apple ID that you use for Apple Music.

In addition, Audi vehicles also come with Apple CarPlay support. Drivers can connect their iPhone wirelessly or via USB.

That way, drivers get traffic-optimized directions, make calls, send and receive messages, and listen to music by simply tapping the touchscreen or using Siri voice control.
