JAKARTA - It's been four years since God of War was released in 2018. Given how enthusiastic players are with this game, it's no wonder that the wait for the sequel is eagerly awaited.

The release of God of War Ragnarok feels quite long. With the game expected to launch sometime in 2022, fans were hoping that Sony would be handing out game updates to players soon, but it looks like they're not there yet.

In celebration of the fourth anniversary of God of War (2018), developer SIE Santa Monica Studio recently shared a message from the game's creative director, Cory Barlog on Twitter.

Barlog thanks fans for their support on the previous game. Additionally, Barlog spoke briefly about the sequel, saying that while development is moving forward, the team isn't ready to show anything new yet.

"We haven't had much to say about this," Barlog said. “That's because everyone is down and working hard. We are perfectionists.”

With the 1 minute 24 second video, Barlog says there's so much going on right now that he just wished he could share it with you, but it wasn't ready to show yet.

“But I assure you, right now, when we have something ready to share, we will share it. Because we don't want to hold back any of this. So please hold on tight, know that something cool is coming, and that we, everyone here at Santa Monica, are so grateful for all the support you've given us."

Whenever it's time to launch, God of War Ragnarok will be available on PS5 and PS4.
