JAKARTA - In 2019, Microsoft finally got its own system to manage Android notifications from Windows. It allows you to view notifications from your Android phone on a Windows 10 or 11 PC.

You can even reply to messages and write new texts right from your computer. Previously called Your Phone, the Windows app has recently been renamed Phone Link.

If you've updated your PC to Windows 11 or Windows 1, here's how VOI has compiled from The Verge, to check your Android phone's notifications on a Windows PC. You should be prepared to go back and forth from your computer to your phone.

First, on your Windows computer, make sure you have the latest version of the Your Phone app:

1. Open Microsoft Store and look for Phone Link.2. If the application is not already installed, install it first.3. If the application is installed, click Open.4. You will be taken to Your phone app. Click Start.5. You will be reminded of the Microsoft account you are signed in to. Unless you want to switch accounts, click Continue.

If that's the case, it's time to move on to the phone side.

1. You will be given instructions on where to go on your Android phone to install the Connect to Windows app. For most phones, you will type in the web link provided, or you can search for it yourself in the Play Store and install it. If you have a Surface Duo or certain Samsung phones, Link to Windows is already installed.2. Open the Connect to Windows app, and tap Phone link and PC.

Now, go back to your computer.

You will see a checkbox saying that the Connect to Windows app is ready. Check it, then click Pair with QR code. You will get a pop-up with a QR code.

Back to your phone

1. You will see a box asking if the QR code on your PC is ready. Therefore, tap Continue on your phone. Grant Connect to Windows permission to take pictures and record videos.2. Scan the QR Code on the computer with your phone.3. Give the app the various permissions it asks for.4. You will be warned that staying connected can affect your battery life. Tap Continue, then allow or deny permission to run in the background.5. Your phone will ask you to check your computer, and your computer will tell you that you are ready.

On your computer

You will be greeted in the app and invited to pin it to your Windows 11 taskbar. You'll then be introduced to everything you can do, like view notifications, send text messages, view photos, or make calls.
