JAKARTA - Netflix has launched three more new mobile games that can be played on iOS or Android by subscribing to a streaming service. It is among the first FPS game titles available in its lineup.

Three new games that will be added to the line-up this March include This Is A True Story. This is an educational role-playing game created to share the true story of a Sub-Saharan African woman's daily struggle to get water for her family.

The game is created by developer Frosty Pop in collaboration with Charity: Water. Then the second game there is Shatter Remastered. This is the latest version of the brick breaker game which was first released on PS3 in 2009.

Lastly, Into The Dead 2: Unleashed, an FPS or hybrid runner game, where players have to survive hundreds of zombies.

All of these games are free to play, but of course, Netflix's subscription fee itself is pretty hefty, especially since Netflix recently raised its prices in the United States (US).

Cited from The Verge, Wednesday, March 23, as long as a user is a subscriber, users can get new games directly from the Netflix mobile app, Apple Store, or Google Play store.

Customers on iOS and Android will find a dedicated game row and tab within the company's mobile app. If using a tablet, players will see a dedicated game bar and a scrolling menu to select a new game.

Netflix is expanding its library of games in a way that has the potential to attract a large number of players, though it's hard to imagine anyone subscribing to Netflix just to play these three game titles.

On the other hand, given the recent price hikes, any content is a good idea, as the company's decision to increase its prices has not been well received by its customers.

Netflix has slowly built up its lineup of mobile games since the program's official launch in November last year, including games Asphalt Xtreme and the spin-off League of Legends.

Mobile gaming is just one part of Netflix's growing interest in games, the company has acquired Next Games and developer Oxenfree Night School, released trivia shows, and launched a daily trivia series based on the popular Trivia Crack brand.
