Apple Quietly Stops Sales Of Beats Pill Plus Speakers, What's Up?

JAKARTA - Apple has quietly stopped selling the Beats Pill Plus, a portable wireless speaker that was first launched in 2015. The bluetooth speaker no longer appears on the Apple and Beats websites.

The speaker is actually the first product to come from Apple under the Beats brand, following the company's $3 billion acquisition in 2014. The product has now been discontinued with no apparent replacement.

Although the Beats Pill Plus has been removed from the company's official website, the speakers are still available from select third-party retailers. The speaker originally retailed for $229, but recently when it was still available in stores and websites, it was priced at just $179.95.

Launching The Verge, Tuesday, January 11, Beats Pill Plus is equipped with a Lightning port on the charger and is integrated with the Beats application for iOS and Android. It is claimed, this speaker is the best product than the Beats Pill 2.0. The Beats Pill Plus is a version of the original Apple product, with a sleeker monochromatic color option.

Apple has been introducing new Beats headphones and earbuds for years. Both will be embedded with the same H1 chip and software integration with Apple's brand, AirPods.

However, it is not known for sure whether Apple will also make a successor to the Beats Pill Plus in the future. In this case, if the company does not want to lose its market, then it must not remain silent.

That's because many other portable battery-powered speakers have come out to fill niches that Apple never really explored, like the Sonos Roam which offers Bluetooth and works with Apple's AirPlay 2 standard, along with modern versions of the Ultimate Ears speakers that used to compete with Beats.
