Google Boost Chrome 10 Percent Faster Performance

JAKARTA - Google is rolling out a number of updates for the Chrome browser. This update aims to increase user productivity with browser performance being faster than before.

Specifically, Google allows users to open more tabs in Chrome. This update promises to improve performance so that it can load pages 10 percent faster without reducing the performance of already open tabs.

"When you check one task after another from your to-do list, waiting even a few seconds for the tab to load can slow you down," said Google, quoted from The Verge, Thursday, August 27.

This update is presented to answer complaints from Chrome users who often open multiple tabs at once. According to Google Chrome's technical director, Max Christoff, the feedback that Google got has revolutionized the way Chrome works and allows users to shrink and expand their tab groups, so users can focus more on the tabs that are accessed.

"We are seeing improvements not only in loading speed but also in battery and memory savings," he said.

Chrome has also added tab previews (in the current beta), which will show a thumbnail of the website on each tab when the user hovers over it.

PDF support is also promised to be more sophisticated. "Over the next few weeks, you will be able to fill out PDF forms and save them directly from Chrome. If you open the file again, you can continue with the last part you left off," said Google.
