How to Enable Google Chat in the Gmail App

If you are using a smartphone, you can enter into the application on your phone and select the three-line icon in the upper left corner.

Then scroll down again, and select the General Settings menu. If you are using an Android phone, you can check the "Show chat and space tabs" column.

Meanwhile, iPhone or iPad users can activate it by checking the box next to the "Show chat and space tabs" menu.

After you do that, at the bottom of your Gmail you will not only display the "Mail" and "Meet" menus, but also the "Chat and Spaces" menu.

Thus, you can use the Chat and Spaces feature to chat with other users who have activated the feature in your Gmail.
