JAKARTA - As a celebration of Xiaomi's 10th anniversary in Indonesia. The Chinese cellphone manufacturer also launched its newest entry-level cellphone, the Redmi 9A.

With a price that is much more affordable than its predecessor, Redmi 9A is claimed to be the champion of 'Everyone' cellphones. Redmi 9A is priced at IDR 1,199 million.

"Redmi A series launched for the first time in Indonesia with the Redmi 5A, until the last Redmi 8A is a big battery, truly a smartphone for everyone. On this 10th anniversary, Xiaomi Indonesia introduced the Redmi 9A, everyone's champion," said Country Director of Xiaomi Indonesia, Alvin Tse, Thursday, August 13.

Even though it is categorized as an entry-level cellphone, the Redmi 9A is equipped with qualified processor specifications. Using the octa-core 2.0GHz MediaTek Helio G25 chipset, this phone can be used to play Mobile Legend or PUBG Mobile.

The screen size has a span of 6.53 inches, an IPS type with a screen resolution of 720x1600 pixels and a screen density of around 269 ppi, and a brightness of up to 400 nits. Redmi 9A is equipped with Dot Drop-shaped bangs which also accommodate a 5MP resolution front camera.

The kitchen runway of Redmi 9A is powered by a 5,000mAh battery which is claimed to last more than two days. Recharging the battery itself is supported by 10W fast charging technology even though it doesn't have USB Type-C support.

"Long-life battery with our tests concluded that this battery has a long resistance and will weaken after 4 years of use, making the Redmi 9A durable," said Alvin.

Alvin also explained that Redmi 9A has passed 70kg weight static pressure test, 300 times drum drop test, 10,000 times plug and unplug interface test and 500,000 power button test.

For cameras, Redmi 9A is equipped with a 13MP main screen, a 5MP front camera powered by Xiaomi's artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Redmi 9A comes in two RAM / ROM variants, namely 2GB / 32GB at a price of Rp1,199 million and 3GB / 32GB at a price of Rp1,299 million.
