JAKARTA - Facebook has just brought the game Pac-Man Community to its social network. This is a brand new game that focuses on multiplayer in classic arcade games.

As the main attraction, Pac-Man Community has the ability to be played with a maximum of three players. Players must cooperate with each other to try to survive the ghosts, but they will also compete for the highest score.

Players can also create rooms to play with their own friends, and Facebook Gaming streamers can invite viewers to join the Play with Streamer feature on Facebook.

Players won't just be working their way through the familiar Pac-Man maze. Players will be able to create their own levels, which can be a lot of fun in Mario Maker style once people get their hands on the level-building tool.

Quoting The Verge, Tuesday, December 7, Pac-Man Community is also present in Watch mode. In this mode, the 2D maze will be converted into an isometric 3D view, and viewers can turn on Pac-Man or ghosts.

User-generated maps can also appear in Watch mode, meaning players might be able to create some interesting trials for AI-driven characters. The game is now available to play for free on the desktop and the mobile version on the Facebook app.

The game is developed by Genvid, a company that specializes in interactive live streaming experiences could be a signal of how Meta is looking to expand Facebook's gaming offerings, to allow streamers to play live games with their audience.

Facebook already offers Twitch-like live streaming and games where players can play right within the app, and Pac-Man Community seems to fit in this, and could be the first step towards interactive content.
