Twitter Launches Surprise Two New Features Similar To Facebook

JAKARTA - Twitter has had a very busy year. The company often rolls out many features and improvements to its social media. Although it will be entering December, it seems Twitter will again make a surprise.

According to a report by developer Nima Owji on his Twitter account, he stated that he had done some digging into the Twitter application code, and found several features, one of which was Reactions.

These features aren't actually available to users yet, but it looks like Twitter is laying down the code for the new feature. From Owji's statement, it means the Reactions feature may be close to the release date.

Citing 9to5Mac, Monday, November 29, this Reactions feature is known to have started testing a few months ago, and will be rolling out soon, because Owji can find references in the Twitter code.

Similar to Facebook, the Reactions feature has happy tears emoji reactions, thinking faces, applause and crying faces. This feature is designed to give users the ability to better show how their conversations are feeling, and to give users a better understanding of how their Tweets are being received.

In addition to the Reactions feature, Owji also found that Twitter can now store data about the Downvotes feature. He noted that the company also changed the Downvote position, so that it will appear before the Like button.

It looks like Twitter will use the Downvotes feature to filter out spam and abusive replies. Authors of downvoted tweets will not be notified, and Downvotes will not appear publicly on the timeline, but there will be an option to hide tweets and replies that have been flagged this way.

It seems, Downvote on Twitter will also be tied with the Sort Replies feature. As the name suggests, users will be able to decide whether they want to receive all replies or only relevant ones.

Relevant is meant, where the user will only receive replies from people he is following and other replies that the user may be most interested in. Then, if you select all replies, the user will receive including those that may be potentially spam, harmful, or offensive. Unfortunately, it is not known exactly when Twitter will launch these two new features.
