Jampidsus' Replacement to be Decided Soon

Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto will soon appoint the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) in the next few days.

This was conveyed by the Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday, July 21. Mensesneg Prasetyo Hadi also said that the Attorney General had sent an official letter to President Prabowo containing the proposal for the name of the candidate for Jampidsus.

As previously reported, Febrie Adriansyah has resigned following the alleged corruption and TPPU cases he was facing some time ago. The current position of Jampidsus is still held by the acting.

According to Prasetyo, the proposed name will be discussed through the mechanism of the Final Assessment Team before the decision is signed by the President. He said there were several other officials' names that were also proposed.

However, Prasetyo was not willing to reveal the names before the presidential decision was issued. According to Prasetyo, President Prabowo also considered the appointment of the new Jampidsus and asked for input and assessment from a number of parties.
