Users Without Accounts Can Now Access Twitter Spaces

JAKARTA - Twitter has again added a new capability for its social audio, Spaces. Where now people who do not have a Twitter account can access and be present in room Spaces.

Previously, the company only allowed users with Twitter accounts to join Spaces rooms, but only Twitter account holders with a minimum of 600 followers were allowed to host rooms.

Now, a year after its launch, several major updates have been released to extend the reach of Twitter Spaces to its non-users, i.e. accessing the Spaces section no longer requires a Twitter account.

Thanks to this update, users can share direct links to Spaces with others, and invited people can attend sessions without even logging into their accounts. However, this capability can only be accessed by web browser users. Twitter promises to expand this feature to its Android and iOS apps in the coming months.

Citing Digital Trends, Wednesday, November 10, other than that, non-account holders will not have the option to host Spaces or engage in conversations, but simply access audio only. Twitter Spaces can currently accommodate up to 13 members to speak in a single session, including a host and two cohosts.

For information, Twitter also recently updated its social audio, where all accounts, including those using the app version, can host Space, even if their follower count is under 600.

On the other hand, Twitter also allows hosts to record their audio sessions, which can be accessed for 30 days. The recording and playback features allow users to listen to the audio conversation even after it's finished.
