Latest Leaks, WhatsApp Prepares To Delete Messages Without A Time Limit

JAKARTA - WhatsApp has long launched the delete message feature in its application. Of course, this feature is very popular with users regarding privacy. But now, WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new version of the "delete for everyone" feature.

Most likely WhatsApp users will be able to delete messages with an unspecified message age range. However, the report first revealed by WABetaInfo, Thursday, November 4, it is possible that WhatsApp will only bring the ability to delete messages that are at least three months old.

However, this time period is very useful for users who often forget to delete their messages for a long time. The new feature allows users to delete any message for everyone regardless of when it was sent.

Previously, when WhatsApp had released the message deletion feature, the limit was set at only seven minutes, meaning users could not delete messages for everyone if they were sent eight minutes earlier.

After some time, WhatsApp again set new limits to 1 hour, 8 minutes, and 16 seconds, many users still find this too limiting. Fortunately, the good news suggests that change is just around the corner.

At the moment the feature isn't even available to beta testers, but the fact that WABetaInfo shows the ongoing development is very promising. Keep in mind, things can change completely before release.

Facebook's parent company Meta will be well aware that this is the option that everyone has been waiting for. Unfortunately, it's not clear exactly when WhatsApp intends to provide users with an extension of time for deleting messages.
