Persija Is Still Inconsistent, Angelo Alessio Continues To Motivate Players

JAKARTA - Persija Jakarta still hasn't shown good performance until the 10th week of the 2021 Indonesian Liga 1 competition. Marco Simic et al's erratic appearance makes them still stuck in 7th place in the standings.

Seeing the inconsistent Kemayoran Tiger, Angelo Alessio seems to still understand this. In addition to continuing to provide training menus to improve performance, the Italian coach also continues to motivate players to encourage performances on the field.

"I always try to encourage all players to be even better. That's what we do every day," said Angelo Alessio as quoted from Persija's official website, Monday, November 1.

Persija's unsatisfactory performance was seen in their last match on week 10 of the 2021 Indonesian Liga 1. Appearing to face Persik Kediri at the Manahan Stadium, Solo Persija had to settle for going home by sharing points.

In the match which was held on Saturday, October 30, the match ended in a 2-2 draw. Persija, who previously conceded, did manage to catch up, but their efforts apparently still couldn't bring home the three points.

Related to this, Angelo Alessio admits that the struggle of the players is not easy. Apart from being behind by two points, the coach also looked at the mental side of the players who were faced with a busy schedule.

"It has to be made clear that it wasn't easy to equalize after going behind twice," he said.

"But the team also showed a strong commitment so that we can play well and stay calm until finally, we can equalize," said the coach.

Previously it was known that Persija Jakarta did have a very busy schedule. In the last 15 days, they had to play big matches against Arema FC, Madura United, Persebaya, and finally Persik.
