Vice President Ma'ruf Amin Will Close Papua National Sports Week At The Lukas Enembe Stadium On Friday

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin is scheduled to close the XX Papua National Sports Week (PON) at the Lukas Enembe Stadium, Kampung Harapan, Jayapura Regency, Friday (15/10).

"We have coordinated with a number of parties, such as the Governor of Papua, the Executive Board of PON, and the Indonesian National Sports Committee," said Chairman of the Committee for the Closing Ceremony of XX Papua PON M. Umar Reliubun in a written statement from National Sports Week Grand Committee (PB PON), as reported by Antara, Tuesday.

Umar said the closing ceremony of the national multi-sports event would be different from the opening ceremony because there was a limit on the number of dancers, which is 200 people.

However, the ceremony which will be held at 19.00 p.m. local time, continued Umar, will still be enlivened by a number of local and national celebrities and a fireworks display as contained in the opening ceremony.

The capacity of the audience seats at the closing ceremony also remains the same as the opening, which is limited to 25 percent.

"That includes athletes, officials, and other support personnel. All of this is to reduce the risk of transmitting the coronavirus," said Umar.

Spectators and VIP guests who will attend the closing ceremony will use an invitation as a condition of entry and no longer use a PON identity card or bracelet. Invitations to VIP guests will have a special hologram verified by the presidential security forces.

"The requirements for ID cards, vaccine letters, and invitations are for people who want to watch the closing ceremony live. For VIPs, we will coordinate with Presidential Guard (Paspampres) for the technicalities," he said.

Umar asked people who did not have the opportunity to watch the closing ceremony live at the stadium to watch it on the channels that broadcast the closing party, either on the Internet or on national television stations.
